Meteorological experts said that high temperatures are normal in summer, but the intensity and duration of high-temperature weather this year show certain extremes.
 
The super long dog days have arrived as expected! In August, the highest temperature in most areas in mainland China generally ranges from 35 to 38 degrees Celsius, and some areas may experience the highest temperature of above 40 degrees Celsius. For Wuhan, Hangzhou, Changsha, Nanchang, and Chongqing, high temperatures will have almost "full attendance" in the next seven days.

High Temperature Hazards for Injection Molding Machines

1.    Decreasing viscosity of oil
The excessive temperature rise of an injection molding machine will result in a decrease in the viscosity of the oil and therefore an increase in leakage. The volumetric efficiency of the pump and the efficiency of the overall system will decrease significantly.

2.    Mechanical thermal deformation
The moving parts with different thermal expansion coefficients in the hydraulic components will be stuck due to their smaller fit clearances, which will affect the transmission accuracy of the hydraulic system and lead to the deterioration of the working quality of the components. 

3.    Deformation of rubber seals
The excessive temperature rise of an injection molding machine will deform the rubber seals, accelerate aging and failure, and reduce their sealing performance and service life.

4.    Accelerating the oxidative deterioration of oil
The excessive temperature rise of an injection molding machine will accelerate the oxidative deterioration of the oil, precipitate asphalt substances, and reduce the service life of the hydraulic oil.

Methods to handle high temperatures of injection molding machines
 


1.    According to different load requirements, check frequently and adjust the pressure of the relief valve to make it just right.
2.    Improve the lubrication conditions of moving parts to reduce friction loss, which facilitates reduced working load and heat generation.
3.    Improve the assembly quality and precision of hydraulic components and hydraulic systems, strictly control the fit clearance of fittings and improve lubrication conditions.
4.    Add cooling devices if necessary.
