After four years, FCS will meet you at Taipeiplas 2022 soon! The exhibition will be held in Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center from September 27 to October 1 this year. During the period, FCS will present the achievements of the new era of plastic in the largest scale in the exhibition center. In addition, FCS will focus on the most concerned topics in the industry, including new energy, carbon neutralization, and circular economy. It will take into account the green energy environmental protection and intelligent manufacturing technology, which enjoy popularity among our customers, and make full use of the exhibition hall to display multiple solutions. Among them, the “Electric and Energy Efficient” FA-e Series, the “All-electric and multi-component” CT-R series, the “Your Mini Giant” LM series and the “Green Energy Footwear Exclusive” GENTREX Series will make their debut and are expected to generate a wave of interests. 

For the widespread concern on the FCS core technology product of injection molding machines, what highlights will they bring?

Advanced Servo Hydraulic Molding Machine: FA-160e
FA-e Series is derived from the product technology that has won the 29th Quality Award of FA Intelligent Automated High-efficiency and Energy-saving Injection Molding Machine issued by the Ministry of Economic Affairs in 2021. This series boasts the optimized performance of fast switching mold smoothing control, structural design rigidity enhancement, stable control of injection at low speed and storage material back pressure, humanized operation interface, and GB first-level energy-saving specifications. FA-e adopts an all-electric injection/storage design to gain precise control of injection position/speed, which makes this series suitable for the production of medical equipment and other high-precision products. Combined with a precision ball guide screw and linear sliding rail, this series achieves smooth injection with low energy consumption and low noise, enabling itself to work in high speed, high pressure, and other harsh molding conditions. Coupled with a new generation of hydraulic clamping die units, this series mixes oil and electricity and takes their perspective advantages, which is the most competitive and unique advantage of this series. In the exhibition, the FA-160e with 160 tons of clamping force will be used to display the molding scheme of a 5 ml syringe for 24 cavities medical consumables, and this molding cycle is about 9 seconds.

All-Electric Multi-Component Molding Machine: CT-230R
The CT-R series, which makes its debut in Taipei, is the annual blockbuster that combines FCS's two advantages of all-electric and two-component. CT-R series all-electric multi-component molding machine is suitable for multi-color products of high precision and low pollution. Adopting multiple independent barrels for smart injection, greatly shortens the cycle time. The rate of servo rotary table improved by 30%-50%, and the positioning precision up to 0.005°. Equipped 21.5” touch screen with a smart control interface.

Sales of FCS's two-component injection molding machines hit new highs every year, surpassing NTD 2.2 billion in 2021. Its two-component machines have five types with injection units up to 20 kinds of configuration flexibility, which can fully cover the mold design of various industries or achieve multi-task customization of production lines. This year, Taipeiplas will use an all-electric and two-component machine with a clamping force of 230 tons, which is paired with food-grade PP and TPE elastomer, to automatically display a two-color and two-component airtight container with the body and cover molded at one time. In this way, the labor cost of filling silicon strips in the second process can be avoided, and the molding cycle is 30 seconds.

Two-Platen Injection Molding Machine: LM-500
This machine has introduced the design of major companies in Europe, which the two-platen structure has a shorter clamping unit which saves factory space by more than 30%. Its energy saving system can reduce about 30%-70% energy consumption; FCS also has the customized design of tie bar withdrawal, which enjoys popularity in narrow and dense land or plants with limited height. The die opening stroke and mold thickness of the two-platen machine are large, which enable them to have a wide range of applications and be especially suitable for the production of large and deep cylinder products. FCS booth site also actually adopts many large household products produced by the LM series. With the recycling technology of Polystar, the LM-500 will be combined with some recycled materials to procude one cavity utility caddy 450 g, and the molding cycle is about 45 seconds. In this way, the series provides a stable molding production solution for plastic product manufacturers that takes into account energy saving, carbon reduction, and circular economy issues.

Working together: TK x FCS crossover

Gentrex, a new brand jointly developed by FCS and the shoe equipment leader Tienkang, will make its debut at TaipeiPLAS. In the exhibition hall, there will be a special area set up for Gentrex, where professionals from TK and FCS will explain various shoe midsoles produced by “physical foaming injection molding technology”. 
    
Why is physical foaming molding used?
The output value of the footwear industry is considerable, among which, sports footwear ranks the top. The materials of sports footwear can be mainly divided into upper and sole materials, and the midsole plays the key “foot role”. EVA chemical foaming is commonly used in the midsole of shoes to achieve the comfortable effect of elasticity and shock absorption with bubble nucleation. Due to the addition of foaming agents, activators, and cross-linkers in traditional chemical foaming plastics, the manufacturing process emits considerable GHGs, such as carbon dioxide (CO2) and CH₄, affecting the atmospheric environment. MuCell is a physical micro-foaming technology, adopting nitrogen (N₂) as a natural foaming agent. Liquid nitrogen and plastic melt are mixed into a supercritical fluid, accurately measured and injected into the mold cavity. Dense bubbles are generated with pressure difference, and the nitrogen is released back to nature. No greenhouse gases are emitted in the manufacturing process, which is relatively environmental friendly. In terms of technology, the MuCell physical foaming process is adopted to adjust the density of the foam holes through scientific forming parameters. With different plastic formulations, the midsole can achieve a variety of shock absorption and rebound effects, promoting future walking and sports technology to be more diversified. “Great efforts are made to give you a comfortable walking experience.” Gentrex zone will enable you to understand and experience how the foaming molding technology is combined with a variety of materials to produce pairs of comfortable and durable sneakers. 

MuCell foaming injection molding is not only applied to the lightweight and elasticity requirements of the sole but also can be used in food packaging, transportation vehicles, and electrical parts. This molding can be used to achieve different degrees of size stability, reduce warping, weight reduction, heat preservation, and noise reduction.
