FCS attends the inauguration ceremony of NKUST’s "Smart Manufacturing Practice Factory."

The Smart Manufacturing Practice Workshop at National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology was officially launched today, attracting major international manufacturers such as DMG MORI, Siemens, and Tacon Technology to set up operations there.

With funding from the Ministry of Education's Exemplary University of Science and Technology Development Project, Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology has successively planned and constructed five buildings, including the first building of the Industrial Experimental Park, which was put into use more than a year ago; the second building of the Industrial Experimental Park, which broke ground last week and is expected to be completed and put into use in February next year; the Smart Disaster Prevention Practice Workshop; and the Smart Manufacturing Practice Workshop, which was completed and put into use today.

Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology held an opening ceremony for its Smart Manufacturing Practice Workshop today, as well as an event to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Among those present to offer their congratulations were Yeh Che-liang, Deputy Executive Secretary of the Executive Yuan Science and Technology Advisory Committee; Tanaka Tomoo, General Manager of Taiwan Sanfeng Instruments; Lin Fei-fan, General Manager of Dakang Technology; Kuo Hung-ching, Senior Manager of DMG MORI; Liu Lien-chun, Senior Manager of Siemens; Wang Po-hsun, Chairman of Fu-Cheng Precision Industry; and Tsai Ming-chi, Director of the Motor Center at National Cheng Kung University.

President Chen Zhenyuan stated that the school's Industrial Experiment Park Building 1 has attracted seven companies, including Taiwan High Speed Rail and Fuqiangxin Precision Industry, to jointly establish a technology research and development center. The Smart Manufacturing Practice Workshop has also attracted international giants such as DMG Mori, Siemens, and Dakang Technology, demonstrating that the school's achievements in teaching, research, and technological development are highly recognized by the industry.

Department Head Chiu Neng-hsin of the Department of Mechanical Engineering pointed out that in response to the government's 5+N innovation and local industry policy, the department actively participates in a number of R&D projects, including domestically produced aircraft, domestically built ships, and domestically produced military equipment. In the future, the department will also open training courses in five-axis machining and intelligent manufacturing to train talents for enterprises, cultivate experts for the country, and enhance the international competitiveness of domestic precision manufacturers.
