FCS's Two-Platen Multi-Component Injection Molding Machine Won The 2023 Plastic Industry Ringier Technology Innovation Award

On June 7, 2023, the 2023 Ringier Technology Innovation Award Ceremony was successfully held in Shanghai. A total of 78 products shortlisted, and 35 innovative products and technologies finally stood out. FCS's GW-1600RP Series Multi-Component Two-Platen Injection Molding Machine, recognized by the senior jury panel of industry associations, scientific research institutions and enterprise R&D centers, won the "injection molding technology" innovation award. Here, I would like to thank the industry partners who have been concerned about and supported FCS. Jerry Wang said, "The new energy automobile industry is a national strategic emerging industry, an important support for the implementation of the "dual carbon strategy" in Taiwan, and an important force for the development and transformation of the world automobile industry. In the next five years, the new energy vehicle market will see strong supply and demand, and it is estimated that from 2023 to 2028, Taiwan will produce 80-100 million vehicles for export and sale in domestic market". 

The through integrated headlight lampshade is an important component of the optical system of high-end new energy vehicles. It is generally molded by 3 to 4 kinds of materials, and its length can be up to 2,000 mm. It has become a symbol of the personality and sense of science and technology of new energy vehicles in recent years. Without the need for an intake barrier, the through integrated headlight design can be applied to both headlights and taillights at the same time, which has become the high-end design concept and mainstream design idea of new energy vehicle headlight design. The product is now in great demand. 

At present, the multi-component injection molding machine used for the production of integrated lampshade is mainly based on two injection units, which are mostly arranged in parallel, right angle and opposite direction. It has some problems, such as limited types of injection materials, too long heat flow of the mold, large production area and low matching degree of mold. Therefore, it is an urgent need to produce flexible molding equipment that has more injection units, a compact layout, high injection precision, and a flexible control system to achieve efficient and flexible production of multi-material products.

Technological strengths
1. The X-type four-injection units are distributed in rectangular four corners, the injection unit structure is concentrated and compact, and the layout is flexible, which can meet the molding needs of a variety of products. 
2. Each injection unit is equipped with high-precision closed-loop control technology to improve repetition accuracy and optimize product quality.  
3. The four injection units can be adapted to a variety of mold requirements and can be flexibly selected. Two-component, three-component, and four-component products can be efficiently and flexibly produced without moving or changing the injection units.  
4. The machine has large-diameter vertical turntable and rotation space, which can carry up to 25 tons of modules through a special bearing pack design.  
5. The turntable is controlled by servomotor, and runs at high speed. The latch mechanism realizes the double accurate positioning of six positions, ensuring the rotation accuracy of the turntable. Multi-component injection molding of two stations, three stations and four stations can be realized.  
6. Matched with the proportional valve switch mold and ejector, and the neutron simultaneous function, the machine can meet the needs of accurate opening and closing mode control and fast cycle.  
7. The high-strength separate sliding foot structure design improves the bearing capacity and stability of the movable mold plates.  
8. The two-platen clamping unit is equipped with the function of removing tie bars. It makes mold replacement convenient and occupies a small space, which is beneficial to the factory space configuration.
