Tongxin Joins Hands, Smart Streaming – FCS AI Innovation Application Project Launched

Fu-Chiang Hsin Group (FCS) has successfully passed the Ministry of Economic Affairs Industrial Development Bureau's "Industrial Upgrading and Innovation Platform Guidance Program" and officially launched the "iSCM-Fu-Chiang Hsin AI Innovation Application Program" today.

Given the rapid growth of operations at multiple factories across Taiwan and mainland China, the existing ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning)/SCM (Supply Chain Management) systems are no longer sufficient. In addition, with the rapid development of information and communication technology, FCS is beginning to face bottlenecks in system usage and expansion, and urgently needs an upgrade.

In addition, to address the issues of untimely paper-based work reports and incomplete product traceability, FCS plans to introduce a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) at the assembly site to improve the transparency of on-site production information. In 2018, FCS commissioned the Metal Industries Research & Development Centre (MIRDC) to provide guidance and assistance in evaluating and planning the new system, and decided to launch a new project in 2019 to upgrade and implement the system.

At the same time, the Industrial Development Bureau launched the "Industrial Supply Chain Information Connection Construction Project," which aligns perfectly with FCS's needs. This project primarily encourages small and medium-sized manufacturers to collaborate with upstream and downstream supply chain partners, using information systems to connect the manufacturing supply chain. Through information flow and transparency, it aims to solve production and manufacturing problems, improve yield and capacity, increase efficiency, and establish intelligent data analysis application models. This achieves the benefits of rapid response and flexible production, and incorporates AI value-added applications to develop smart supply chain and smart manufacturing models.

With guidance from the Metal Industries Research & Development Centre, FCS successfully applied for a subsidy of NT$25.8 million from the Industrial Development Bureau’s “Smart Machinery - Industrial Cluster Supply Chain Digital Streaming and AI Application Project”. The “iSCM-Fuqiangxin AI Project” will be completed within two years, integrating AI artificial intelligence technology to build a new enterprise electronic system.

The main focus and objectives of this innovative application plan are as follows:

(1) Upgrade the supply chain information system: In addition to strengthening the cross-domain information architecture and process integration of the three factories across the Taiwan Strait, we will also integrate mobile communication software such as Line and WeChat to establish supply chain information interaction technology, seamlessly transmit equipment change information, and reduce supply disruptions caused by information delays.

(2) On-site implementation of production execution system: Production personnel report work through mobile collection vehicle system, making on-site production and quality information transparent and real-time, improving factory management efficiency, reducing production and inventory costs, and reducing the occurrence of on-site material shortages and work stoppages.

(3) Introduce AI technology into production and operation: enhance the big data analysis capabilities of the FCS system's electronic system, use AI calculation technology to optimize the AI prediction energy of FCS sales, production and service material preparation, reduce material shortages in the production site and after-sales service, improve delivery accuracy, and optimize the company's decision-making and management efficiency.

This plan will address the actual problems FCS faces in the supply chain and production site by conducting demand interviews and streamlining processes, optimizing the upstream and downstream supply chain production information flow architecture, comprehensively promoting smart and lean manufacturing, and creating an efficient and visualized production environment.
