FCS And TK Developed "GENTREX" And Achieved The New Milestone Of Net-Zero Carbon Emissions For Footwear Industry.

Net zero change, the responsibility is ours
Threatened by global warming and climate change, net-zero carbon emissions become a common global issue. Enterprises advocate for ESG to define a clear net zero trajectory and action path to achieve the goals set. Catalyzed by this wave, many equipment, process, and material manufacturers are actively facing this new opportunity for transformation. Tien Kang, the leading brand of footwear machinery manufacturer, and FCS, the leading brand of plastic machinery manufacturer, took this opportunity to collaborate on an innovative model and successfully developed the "Multifunctional Physical Foam Injection Molding System". The brand name is GENTREX. The system is particularly suitable for the "zero carbon emission" production of various components of "thermoplastic elastomeric micro foam" with wide range of applications, including shoe, bicycle and motorcycle industries that require vibration damping, cushioning or comfort components. The first wave of the project will focus on providing "Zero Change" solutions for the footwear industry, so that everyone can enjoy walking comfortably on their feet while taking care of the earth at the same time.

Creating sustainability from everyday’ s footprint
In the footwear industry, the "chemical foaming" process has been in use for many years. However, due to the chemical additives such as foaming agent, crosslinker, and stabilizer added to the plastic (EVA), considerable carbon dioxide (CO2) and some methane (CH₄) are also released when the foam is catalyzed by heating. The huge global demand for shoe soles and carbon emissions in the processing have a significant impact on the global environment. The GENTREX system, the know-how and technical strengths jointly developed by Tien Kang and FCS teams, adopting the MuCell® supercritical micro foaming equipment from Trexel in the United States, can successfully blend liquid nitrogen (N₂) supercritical fluids into molten thermoplastic elastomers. After injecting the elastomer into the mold cavity, moderate pressure release to obtain dense bubble holes (density is in between 0.18 to 0.25) and create a zero-carbon footwear in sole making process. Thus solves the problem of chemical foaming emission of greenhouse gases. Nitrogen (N₂) is a non-greenhouse gas, naturally existing in air, and has no impact on the environment, providing a complete alternative to the net-zero carbon emissions of the shoe sole industry.

Stepping It Up & Shape A Better World
Tien Kang and FCS, two companies have joined force to form a talented and dedicated team on Jan 16, 2021. The team, working closely and combines know-how, under rigorous project management and DOE (design of experiments), with support of Trexel Inc., innovates GENTREX- A multifunctional physical foaming injection molding system. Aiming to hold a first launch on Sept 27, 2022. The GENTREX innovative system covered in wide-range applications and supporting our client toward zero emission in process, also known as a new milestone to Tien Kang and FCS.
